Creamy Sweet Citrus: Immunity

I have made this same recipe over the past few days for a few reasons.  The first is that it tastes fantastic!  The second is that I am shooting for a strong immune system as everyone around me is sick with some kind of sinus/cough/everything else. haha.  The last is that my Breville Juicer broke and I can only juice soft produce with my manual one. I did use a bullet to blend in the avocado though.

Creamy Citrus Immunity

  • 3-4 Clementines
  • 2 Large Oranges
  • 1 Med Apple
  • 2-3 handfuls of Kale

Juice these ingredients and add to your blender/bullet with 1/2 avocado.  Place in the orange or apple first and then build the kale on top of it for high speed juicers.

The clementines have 120% vitamin C in just 2.  The Oranges have less vitamin C, but are still beneficial.  The Kale is also great for immunity and the avocado is a super food!

I love this easy mix and if I had my real juicer working, I would be cranking these out more often.  I hope you enjoy and have a Merry Christmas!!!

Crohn’s is a flora problem First!


Juicing works so well because it seems to correct flora imbalance to restore good bacteria over harmful.  Oregano oil also works because it only kills the harmful bacteria unlike antibiotics that kill everything.  As you do these things you notice that your symptoms subside and bathroom frequency normalizes.  A few years ago my symptoms got better when taking heavy doses of antibiotics, but they returned because all flora was killed off.

Crohn’s begins with flora and what you put in your body over time, disturbs the perfect balance for those that are more sensitive. This flora is strongly connected to your immune system, which then goes on overload and inflammation begins to occur. The endless cycle begins to happen = Crohn’s

Try this simple change for one month to see if your symptoms subside:

  • Take a highly rated refrigerated probiotic with a high cell count and wide array of bacteria 2x per day. Morning/Night
  • Take oregano oil capsules 2x a day along with the probiotic. Morning/Night
  • Start juicing 8oz+ 1x per day.  (Best to include greens with high chlorophyll and oxygen)
  • Go easy on sugar and food that turns into sugar to starve the bad bacteria.
  • Try to eat natural foods and just limit the processed as much as you are comfortable with.

SIBO Diet + Juicing to heal Crohn’s

The link above provides a nice guide for what to eat and what not to eat if you have small intestine bacterial overgrowth which is one of the driving forces for Crohn’s individuals.  As you scan the do not eat side quickly you see sugar, bread/wheat and processed food items.  On the opposite side you see more natural foods and ingredients and I think that difference is obvious by now.  

Sugar – The white refined sugar that is added to most food these days feeds the harmful bacteria.  They thrive on it! Some people get gas pretty quickly after eating it and some even feel nausea shortly after.  The non-medical world is naming sugar as point for your body because it sets off this imbalance that is hard to correct.  

Wheat – This grain is not the same as it was long ago.  It is basically a mutated version and we are eating it in almost everything.  The worst of it that you can consume is bleached flour where they actually use bleach to get it bright white.  Wheat is inflammatory and not very easy to digest.  Flour also turns into sugar that then feed the SIBO.  

Processed Food – This is the worst of the two because it combines the two above in one food.  There can be many forms of sugar within the food itself along with wheat and other chemicals/preservatives.  This food feeds the bacteria and they can even control your cravings so that they can get the food they want.  

When you remove these foods the bacteria starve and your cravings get stronger.  You need to be strong and resist!  Add in the juicing and now you are destroying them and flushing them out.  At the same time you are flushing in vitamins, enzymes, phytonutrients and probiotics to take the place of the harmful bacteria.  

SIBO Juice Recipe:

  • 1 Bell Pepper
  • Kale
  • Parsley
  • Apple
  • Lemon
  • Ginger

The top three are your bacteria killers and provide you with a ton of chlorophyll.  The bacteria and yeast do not like this oxygen filled part of the juice.  The apple and lemon are there to help cover the bitter flavors.  The apple also cleanses out the colon and the lemon has anti-inflammatory properties just like the ginger.  

If you really can’t handle the green taste in this drink you can add more apple or possibly red grapes.  Even though this is sugar, it is not nearly as bad as white refined versions!!

Another unexpected juicing bonus!!


Many months ago I wrote a post about my lack of allergies and that it was the first time in years of having few to no symptoms.  I found out that it was the ginger which was a natural antihistamine.  

I have also noticed that I have very little body odor even when wearing no deodorant at all.  I still take one shower per day and I only try this out on the weekends.  So today I decided to go out and get 10 large bags of soil in the 90 degree heat and plant an organic garden wearing zero deodorant.  By the end of the day I still had zero odor!!! So strange right!  

A while back I was watching many Dan McDonald videos on juicing and he always mentioned that if you eat clean and juice daily it deodorizes you from the inside out.  He mentioned herbs like parsley, dill and mint that actually make your sweat smell good! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRV9c2jgLX0

I have also been experimenting with organic wheat grass tablets because I have not been able to get the supplies for juicing/growing it yet.  I also believe that this supplement eliminates body odors also.  

So if you are having issues with excessive body odor even with deodorant, clean up your diet and get the green juice in your body.  Pretty amazing changes take place!  

 

New Recipe: One of the best tasting yet!


This new recipe comes from my desire to have a fake orange glow tan – haha.  I do get a bit orange from carrots from time to time however.  This juice leans on the side of taste, but still has some great health benefits.  The carrot juice is amazing for your eyes and is antibacterial.  The apples are colon cleansers and remove toxins that have been stuck there for years.  The clementine has a ton of vitamin C and keeps your immune system strong.  The lemon has anti-inflammatory properties and creates an alkaline environment so cancer cells do not grow.  The ginger is anti-inflammatory and the cucumber is great for your skin.  When I call this one orange glow, it means that you really will have a bit of a healthy glow to your appearance.  This mixture was really tasty!!! The Orange Glow

  • 2 Apples
  • 3-4 carrots
  • 1 clementine 
  • 1/2 lemon with skin
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1/2 cucumber

**Juicing + Fermented Foods**


My last post about doctors beginning to realize that bacteria plays a key role in the development of Crohn’s Disease and Colitis, has really given me motivation.  It shows that the body needs healthy bacteria, enzymes and nutrients to operate properly and avoid sickness.  I get these key things from juicing daily and now I will from additions to my diet.  

I received instructions on how to create fermented foods from “Non GMO Project Verified” on Facebook.  My next mission is to create some of these foods and basically flood the body with live strong probiotics on a long term daily basis.  This along with the daily juicing habit, should create a perfect bacteria balance and prevent any possible relapse if I eat something wrong here or there.  

The key to all of this is to make juicing and diet a lifestyle and not ever think of it as a diet or fad. This is a new way to live your life.  

Clean Eating = Food that give you what your body needs – just a few ingredients!

Avoid GMO, Preservatives and chemicals = The overall cause of your Crohn’s Disease.

Juicing = Flush toxins, heal ulcers, inflammation, immunity, fight cancer, enzymes.

Probiotic Foods = Build a strong balance against harmful organisms and sickness.

Herbal Supplements = Garlic, oregano – kill yeast, fungi, bacteria, parasites. 

Keep in mind that the herbal supplements are only there in the beginning when you have a large imbalance going.  Juicing can taper down a bit as you correct the imbalance and see results.  I started off at closer to 32oz a day and I am going for 15oz daily at this point.  Food needs to be a new way of life!  Read labels and don’t ever go back to the horrid imbalance.  It is not worth putting processed food back in and ruining your progress.  

 

Crohn’s hates Chlorophyll Juice:)


My personal mission for juicing in the beginning was to decrease the inflammation in the gut and juicing has been nothing short of amazing for that.  My new mission is to create a thriving environment for beneficial bacteria by eliminate all parasites, fungi and candida yeast. This can be done by juicing ingredients that contain large amounts of Chlorophyll.  This link explains how beneficial Chlorophyll can be for your body overall.  You do not need to purchase the product that they offer, but it has good quick information.

Chlorophyll is embedded in leafy greens that you can juice and add to other helpful ingredients. Here is a juice loaded with Chlorophyll that also tastes pretty good as well.  

Crohn’s Chlorophyll Cleanser (Triple C)

  • 3 Carrots
  • 1 pear
  • 1 whole lemon with skin
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 2-3 leaves kale
  • Half cucumber
  • 1-2 inch ginger

Even though that this one was supposed to be bitter, it was sweet due to the pear, carrots and lemon.  I followed this drink up with a meal containing some fresh pressed garlic into my sauce.  I do need a toothbrush stat!! haha.

 I hope you are trying some of these ideas and it is helping you to see a new way of treatment.  

 

Progress: Juicing, Oregano oil and Garlic


Many of the symptoms I was having when adding wheat/gluten to my diet have vanished.  I no longer have excessive gas that has a strong odor.  Bathroom visits have normalized to 1x a day on average.  Stool sinks instead of floats and all food is digested.  Here is what I have done to get back on track without the need for any prescription drugs in about 9 months.

Juicing

  • The juices that I have been making include a lot of ingredients that kill candida yeast, bacteria and parasites.  I juice on an empty stomach 1x a day at about 24oz.  This way the goodness of the juice goes directly into your blood stream.  I juiced cabbage, carrots, apples, lemons, ginger, parsley, cilantro, kale, fennel, and celery.  I tried to avoid making any juices that contained too many fruits to avoid the sugar as candida love to eat it. 

Oregano Oil

  • I have been taking supplements from Metagenics:  Candibactin AR and BR.  The oregano oil in these supplements is what kills all harmful microbes and helps to restore the balance.  I saw a difference in about 2 days!!! Pretty amazing stuff!!  I don’t intend on taking this again because I am going to stick to my natural food diet and avoid wheat/gluten.  I also will continue juicing ingredients that keep everything in check. 

Garlic

  • Adding fresh raw garlic in your foods is essential for killing all this bad stuff and it tastes great too!  Garlic is anti-bacterial.  My son had an ear infection that 3 different antibiotics could not get rid of.  We dropped a mix of garlic and oil in his both ears for 3 days.  Gone!!! We were completely amazed as was the doctor that said his ears were all cleared up! 

These methods seem to be pretty awesome and I would love to hear what a doctor thinks about them.  They actually work and do not just cover your problem. 

Fix the imbalance!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been quite a learning journey while creating this blog site.  It really has allowed me to change my thinking and theory at times.  In my last post, I stated that I was testing wheat products on my system.  I definitely felt the difference in how I felt and now I believe my trials have caused an imbalance in my gut like I thought it would. 

I am a bit angry about it, but instead of worry I am doing something about it right away.  I visited my Natural Dr.  and he confirmed my imbalance with my symptoms.  He said “Wheat is not at all what it used to be!”  “Once you are gluten sensitive, you are sensitive for life and eating it can trigger an imbalance in flora.”  I truly believe that wheat gluten, which is in everything is one of the major triggers to offset the balance of flora and allow Crohn’s to develop!

This is what I will be doing to correct this and get back on track!!!!

  • Eliminate all gluten products 100%
  • Taking Candibactin AR and BR for 1 month to kills candida and all other harmful flora.
  • Taking a high dose probiotic that has research to back it up 2x a day
  • Adding fresh garlic to meals
  • Cooking with coconut oil – candida killer!
  • Juicing to kill candida – Recipes to come!!

I have realized that you need more than juicing alone to fully get to the point that I was for 7 months.  You cannot play with your diet and you need to be very serious about it.  You need to kill all harmful bacteria first and most importantly – candida yeast!!

I will never stop juicing because once you kill off the harmful organisms and watch your diet, juicing keeps your body cleansed and strong!!

Sweet Healing Green

This colorful mix was consumed today and it was good enough to share.  All of these ingredients were purchased at Trader Joes’ except for the parsley.  This recipe follows the 4 component rule for constructing a well balanced juice. 

  • Base: Coconut water
  • Sweet/Fruit:  Apple, grape, carrot
  • Greens:  Kale, Parsley
  • Alkalize/anti-inflammatory:  Lemon, ginger

This was super energizing right off the bat and I felt great all day.  Give this one a try!!
