**Smooth Minty Green Recipe**

I had to post this one right away before I forgot the ingredients.  This is a really good creation that you have to try + great health benefits.  

  • 1/4 pineapple
  • 1/2 fennel bulb
  • 1 small bunch mint 
  • 2-3 kale leaves
  • 2 apples
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1 thumb ginger 

This recipe is so smooth, sweet and refreshing.  It is a perfect tasty blend.  My goal here was to make something soothing to the gi tract to help with IBS or Crohn’s symptoms.  The fennel and the mint help in this area.  They also taste perfect together.  The mint is also anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral.  The cucumber is cooling/soothing and the pectin in the apple is great for detox.

Anti-inflammatory Power House Juice

The Recipe:

  • 1/3 bunch Cilantro
  • 1/3 bunch Parsley
  • 3-4 Kale Leaves
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • 1/2 Lemon with skin
  • 1 apple
  • 1/4 Chunks Pineapple
  • 1 inch Turmeric

I would like to start off by saying that the mixture above was very tasty despite some of the green ingredients.  I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors.  I only like to share recipes that I have personally tasted.  There have been quite a few mistakes along the way that fell into the category of 100% health and 0% taste.

To build this juice I got my inspiration from The Life Regenerator on youtube, Dan McDonald.  He has many of the same ingredients, but I changed it according to taste and what I had in my fridge.  If you have not checked him out, you really need to because he has been juicing for 15+ years and has a wealth of information/recipes for you.  http://www.youtube.com/user/liferegenerator

I thought about this juice in 3 parts:

  1. Greens/Anti-inflammatory
  2. Water content
  3. Taste/Cover flavors.

I like to have a decent amount of juice to drink each day.  I used the cucumber, apple and pineapple to get some water content into the juice.  I also need the juice to be drinkable so the apple and pineapple really gave it a good natural sweetness.  The greens in this drink are amazing for all health ailments.  They are antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory.  The anti-inflammatory king of this juice is the Turmeric.  Turmeric is being touted as possibly the most anti-inflammatory substance on the planet!!

This juice came out a very dark green in the Omega.  The taste was perfectly balanced and all I could taste was the pineapple, apple and lemon mostly.  The beauty of juicing is that the bitter tastes of the Kale and other greens are within the juice, but are just masked by the sweetness of other ingredients.  Super nutrition for you cells with great taste.  I shall drink this one again tomorrow!!:)

Everything is *GREEN* Juice

Once or twice a week, I like to create a monochromatic juice including ingredients of all shades of green.  This one below is very alkalizing, detoxifying, and healing.  I will say that it needed a bit more sweet and adding an apple might have made it better tasting.  This is also loaded with chlorophyll and ingredients that are anti-inflammatory. 

All Green

  • 1 pear
  • half cucumber
  • 3 stalks of celery
  • half bunch of parsley
  • Kale
  • 1 bell pepper
  • half a lime
  • ginger

My next post should involve the benefit of wheatgrass.  I am heading out to the store to look for capsules that my wife and I can start on daily.  I know juicing wheatgrass fresh is the best, but this is just a quick supplement to the daily juicing habit and I can’t afford another juicer. 

It’s Green Juice for Crohn’s Weekend!!!

Why is green juice so amazing for Crohn’s disease sufferers?

  • Contains Chlorophyll which create an environment inhospitable for harmful microbes.
  • Detoxing qualities to flush out toxins trapped with the gi tract and organs (liver).
  • Alkalizing the body, organs and blood to allow good bacteria to florish.
  • Regenerating with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients to heal ulcers and irritations.
  • Feeds your cells all they need – a complete food in a glass!

So here is what I have after a trip to Trader Joe’s yesterday.  My goal is to make something green and somewhat tasty.  Kale, Fennel, Cucumber, Celery, Multi-color carrots, Red grapes, Lemons, Oranges, Pears, Green Bell Peppers, Ginger root and Parsley. 

Saturday Green

  • Pear – sweet base/anti-inflammatory
  • Fennel – base/alkalize/digestion
  • Celery- alkalize
  • Kale- detox/alkalize
  • Lemon – detox/anti-inflammatory
  • Ginger – detox/anti-inflammatory

I am always amazed when I look at these mixes and what I write along with each ingredient.  Don’t you hope that the drugs that you take promote detox, alkalize and anti-inflammatory?? The problem is that they are only either designed to treat inflammation or they are designed to lower your immune system. They do not detox you and rid your body of toxins.  They do not rid your body of harmful bacteria.  Antibiotics will do that, but they kill all microbes including the good ones. 

The recipe above offers you so much more than your drugs could ever do.  Ask your doctor next time for a drug that will alkalize, detoxify, regenerate, decrease inflammation, heal and rid your body of candida/harmful bacteria.  When he or she says no, then ask well why not??

Crohn’s hates Chlorophyll Juice:)

My personal mission for juicing in the beginning was to decrease the inflammation in the gut and juicing has been nothing short of amazing for that.  My new mission is to create a thriving environment for beneficial bacteria by eliminate all parasites, fungi and candida yeast. This can be done by juicing ingredients that contain large amounts of Chlorophyll.  This link explains how beneficial Chlorophyll can be for your body overall.  You do not need to purchase the product that they offer, but it has good quick information.  


Chlorophyll is embedded in leafy greens that you can juice and add to other helpful ingredients. Here is a juice loaded with Chlorophyll that also tastes pretty good as well.  

Crohn’s Chlorophyll Cleanser (Triple C)

  • 3 Carrots
  • 1 pear
  • 1 whole lemon with skin
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 2-3 leaves kale
  • Half cucumber
  • 1-2 inch ginger

Even though that this one was supposed to be bitter, it was sweet due to the pear, carrots and lemon.  I followed this drink up with a meal containing some fresh pressed garlic into my sauce.  I do need a toothbrush stat!! haha.

 I hope you are trying some of these ideas and it is helping you to see a new way of treatment.  


Green Chlorophyll Alkalizer


Here is a great green drink that is amazing for Crohn’s and pretty much all health issues.  (The power of the sun in a glass)!!

  • 1 large pear
  • 2-3 carrots
  • 2-3 celery stalks
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 1/2 bunch parsley
  • 3 kale leaves
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 1 whole lemon with skin
  • 2 inch ginger

This mix is total healing and energy in a glass.  If you made a mix like this for about 7 days, you would feel the amazing affects in just the first few days alone. 

A beginner recipe to modify this would be:

  • Pear
  • Carrot
  • Kale
  • Ginger
  • Lemon

Bring in the herbs later on when your pallet is used to the taste!!:)


Greeeen Juice Sunday!!!


Today seems like a good day to create a green juice that is as dark green as possible!! This will be mine for today and the energy I get will continue into my early Monday where I need it most.  Use as much of the following as you wish. 


  • Celery
  • Kale
  • Parsley
  • Cilantro
  • Apple
  • Pear
  • Whole Lemon
  • Ginger

The health benefits of this one are too great to write out for you!! Trust me – it is super good for you!!



The Great Green Detox Drink


Want to knock out Crohn’s/Colitis?  Drink this recipe 2-3 times per week for 30 days and reboot the intestinal environment to run like a healthy machine! 


  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Pear
  • 1 full lemon
  • Half cucumber
  • 2-3 celery
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 2 leaves Kale
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 2 inches of ginger

This will probably make about 32oz of juice so you may want to half the recipe or tweak it.  This combination has everything you need to begin to reverse the harmful effects of Crohn’s.  The apple, pear and lemon will help to cover any bitter flavors and bring it all together.  The greens will alkalize your body and begin the healing process.  If you have an overgrowth of bacteria, this drink will begin to cleanse that out as well.  The ginger, pear and greens will soothe inflammation!!  Remember Crohn’s hates green!

Each week I like to choose juice recipes based on certain health conditions or symptoms that I want to target.  I do this through the app that I suggested in a earlier post.  This week is going to be green juice week!! (Sunday to Sunday)!
