The article link above provides some excellent information on how to check your colon health and to keep it as healthy as possible. I do a beet transit test each Sunday as part of my mock fecal transplant therapy that I have posted about many times.
For a normal human you should start to see beet red stool after about 18-24 hours of consuming it. When you have cleansed everything out as I have mentioned before, you see that much faster and you know you are now clear.
This test can tell you a lot of things.
If you never see the beets: you are really constipated and slow moving in the gi.
If you see it too quickly and you have not cleansed, you have IBS-D active.
If you see it in about 12+ hours, you are doing pretty well.
Here is my recipe for today and it was pretty tasty also:
Beet Transit Juice + Choice probiotic
3 small/med beets
1/2 bag cranberries
Coconut water to taste
Please consider the weekly cleanse. I cleanse out with herbal and PH water. I drink this juice and take probiotics to reseed the gi tract.
Since I am in this current predicament, I have the chance to write more and to find out ways to improve my own digestion. My plan is to try to eat smaller meals, chew food well and to include apple cider vinegar into the routine at night before dinner. I am here at the hospital because I was not able to digest all of the almonds, cashews, pecans, nut flour based muffins and it created a blockage. The good news is that the rest of my intestines look good and that’s medicine free and juicing results for about 10+ months now:)
I plan to select foods that are easily digestible and to try and go a more vegetarian route, but still including eggs, chicken and fish. I also plan to purchase a slow juicer to replace my high speed one so that I can juice more leafy greens and preserve maximum vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. Next, I plan to include this very simple recipe about 15 minutes before dinner time.
1 Tbs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (with the Mother)
I know this is a strange subject to discuss, but here in America we have got it all wrong. This is also a vital component for someone who has any IBD or IBS in addition to the juicing therapy. I can tell you from personal experience that this change to using the Squatty Potty has been what I like to call, “life changing”!
So what does this interesting contraption do? By simply bringing your knees up to about chest level, (as seen on the graphic above) you change the angle of your colon. Basically it straightens out so that there is no kink or bend making it extremely easy to use the restroom. Also, by changing your body angle it releases a muscle that is strangling the colon so you remain continent. When you change this angle, that muscle relaxes allowing for a more proper elimination.
These are the benefits that I have noted:
Much quicker time in the bathroom!
Almost no pain if you have hemorrhoids or fissures
No feeling that you need to run back into the bathroom an hour later!!
Decrease in hemorrhoid symptoms
Cure constipation issues
