My Saturday Super Boost + Recipes

My day starts at 7:30am and out the door! The very first thing I pick up is Kombucha fermented tea, which is filled with good probiotics and a few super foods.  This stuff is better than coffee as it gives you a nice energy/mood boost without the jittery feeling.

Back in the car and over to Earthfare’s juice bar for a shot of wheatgrass!! This one shot has the nutritional value of 2.5 lbs of fruits and vegetables.

Back in the car and over to Trader Joe’s for the weekly juice supplies and tried a cold pressed bottled juice.

  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 2 apples
  • ginger
  • a few sprigs of mint
  • 1/4 pineapple

Finally making it home for the morning breakfast juice:

  • 6 Carrots
  • 2 Apples
  • 1 beet
  • 1/2 Fennel
  • Kale
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 Green bell pepper

Afternoon Power Green Juice + Probiotic

  • 1 Yellow Zucchini
  • 1/4 Pineapple
  • 2 Apples
  • 3 Oranges
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • 1 Lemon
  • Kale
  • Ginger

Now this has all been on an empty stomach due to the fact that I was going to try for a 1 full day juice cleanse.  I decided that I am hungry and I want to eat – haha!  I know I am weak!  I think one more juice will be in order for later on and this one is just the simple ABC!

  • 2 Apples
  • 1 Beet
  • 4 Carrots

I envy anyone who has made it through a 1,3,28,30 or 60 day + juice fast.  If you cannot make it like myself -haha, try a weekend boost day.  Have a great weekend!

Apple Cider Vinegar : Digestion

Since I am in this current predicament, I have the chance to write more and to find out ways to improve my own digestion. My plan is to try to eat smaller meals, chew food well and to include apple cider vinegar into the routine at night before dinner.  I am here at the hospital because I was not able to digest all of the almonds, cashews, pecans, nut flour based muffins and it created a blockage.  The good news is that the rest of my intestines look good and that’s medicine free and juicing results for about 10+ months now:)

I plan to select foods that are easily digestible and to try and go a more vegetarian route, but still including eggs, chicken and fish.  I also plan to purchase a slow juicer to replace my high speed one so that I can juice more leafy greens and preserve maximum vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients.  Next, I plan to include this very simple recipe about 15 minutes before dinner time.

  • 1 Tbs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (with the Mother)
  • 12oz of water
  • 1-2 tsp of honey

This mixture seems to be amazing for digestion and a list of many other things.  It provides the stomach with acids to break down the food easier.  It provides enzyme production so the food is broken down quicker and easier.  Here is a good link to 15 benefits:

Seems like ACV is a great option for all individuals to try:)

Food Digestion and Variety

I recently found out the hard way that it is important to choose foods that will digest well in the gi tract in addition to daily juicing.  I just landed myself in the hospital due to a food/bowel obstruction.  I just started eating some new items and I went overboard on these foods before realizing that they do not digest well.  I was making raw almonds, cashews and pecans into recipes.  I made some muffins from almond meal along with a breakfast item made of almonds and almond milk. All of these foods contained small pieces that just did not digest and went all the way through the gi system and were seen at the very end each day.  Some of these did not make it through and built up creating a blockage.

I actually need some help out there from those who are super knowledgeable on a gluten/dairy free diet that contains foods and recipe ideas that are easily digestible.  This is the area where I struggle and need assistance, a food list, recipe blog, ect.

The one story that was pretty shocking was one of a girl with the same problem here at the hospital. The bowel obstruction turned out to be completely made from salad items for her.  She ate super healthy and still had a problem due to excess fiber that just does not digest fully.

I have had no food during this time and the first thing I am going to put into my body will not be food. It is going to be the following recipe for a fresh start.

Green Cleanse

  • Cucumber
  • Dill
  • Cilantro
  • Celery
  • Lemon
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Ginger

Eliminating Crohn’s Disease by Cultivating Health

Many of the medical methods done today either try to cover up the symptoms/problem or simply poison the body, as in cancer treatments.  I believe that we need this medical intervention to an extent, but we rely on it being the only option for us when something goes wrong in our bodies.

My mission to cure my own Crohn’s Disease has changed after 10-11 months.  I no longer create juice to calm inflammation or heal ulcers.  That no longer is an issue now that I do not put food/drink in my body that causes that to flare up or get out of control.  The mission at this point is to cultivate health so that there is little change for disease to develop at all.

Disease thrives in an acidic unbalanced environment and that is what I had created back in 2009.  I now have a completely alkaline environment and an extremely healthy flora balance.  Disease cannot last in a healthy environment!  Basic colds, virus and flu will prey on those with an unhealthy flora environment and they will hopefully skip over mine.

Juicing has been completely amazing!  It has freed me of my medication and kept me out of the jail that is my bathroom.  It has given me energy and mental clarity.  Most of all,  I have been able to share all that I have done with those all around the world and simply help them.  I have inspired quite a few people to get started juicing.  Some not for Crohn’s and I always wonder if other more serious health problems have now been avoided for both myself and others due to this method.

The only negative part is that during tax time I have no doctor visit receipts to claim for a refund – 🙂
