I just had a pretty successful juice out of this machine above. I choose to use this one over the high speed ones due to how it can extract everything out of greens – like every drop!
Greens tend to get lost in the high speed juicers and without a few tricks to extract the juice, you lose money on the produce. The power slow juicers are sooooo expensive, but do a great job on all produce.
This juicer retails for about $50.00 and really does a great job of extracting almost all juice within any item you juice. It can get messy at times and you need to learn some tricks with it, but once you have it down it is a great portable juicer to take anywhere!
Today’s Crank Juice:)
2 apples cut up
1 orange cut
1/2 lemon with skin
2 inch pieces of turmeric
5-6 kale leaves
1 cup of spinach
Running your produce through this machine really gives it a new taste as this is a slow, cold process with little oxygen added to the juice. I hope you enjoy!
We all know that Crohn’s Disease has a large connection to the good and bad bacteria in the gut. This is called the Microbiome or your second brain. Now did the upset of the microbiome cause the Crohn’s Disease, or did the onset of Crohn’s disrupt the microbiome?
Either way, something must be done to change the health state of the bacteria in the gut. My current mission these days seems to be a weekly removal of the current bacteria and a replacement of good quality nutrients, vitamins and probiotics.
This can be accomplished by a one to two day weekend juice fast:
Friday Mid afternoon:
Large Bottle 320z of higher PH spring water
A 32oz of apple, beet, carrot, lemon juice: 1 to 2 bags of carrots to flush out!
Double up on your probiotic after you flush out to replace.
For dinner: any juice along with half an avocado blended in to keep full.
(Your body should flush out this night to make way for all the good stuff coming in)
A large cup of green tea and honey
A morning green juice – any
Good spring water
Afternoon – Any juice along with a blended avocado to keep full.
Saturday night: Eat a light dinner – include garlic if you can to help purify!
I have to say that I felt so overly energized just doing this for 1-2 days. I cannot imagine how it might feel if I did it for 30 days!
Instead of arguing if juicing is better than blending or blending is better than juicing, why not just combine them! If you are doing neither of these, then I suggest you close your eyes and pick one!
Juicing tends to be the best for those with Crohn’s Disease because the body does not need to spend any energy to digest the insoluble fiber. I personally have been trying both and I am enjoying the new variety of recipes.
I feel that when you get to a place where you have healed through the juicing and medical interventions, you can handle adding blending into your juice.
Jason Vale is an absolute expert on this and has created amazing recipes and diet plans. He also runs a challenge from time to time as well.
I love to make ABC juice along with lemon and pineapple, but with blending you can take it a step further and also feel full after drinking it. I also enjoy the natural tan color my skin gets after drinking this one for a while.
Natural Tan Juice (ABC Juice)
1 large beet
1 whole lemon
**Add all of this to a bullet/vitamix along with 1/2 avocado, frozen pineapple chunks and half a banana.**
This one is sweet and creamy. You are getting so much nutrition out of this and it tastes great!!

This is just a quick follow up to my first post about resetting. As I was doing this Sunday weekly reset, I got to thinking of some key things that make this a fantastic protocol:
First of all, I am taking my Lialda like a good boy should.
Imagine clearing your body of all the crap that sticks to the walls of your intestines that prevent nutrients from absorbing. Also, flushing out the bacterial overgrowth that most with Crohns have. Doing this flush with some quality juice and or PH water.
Now once you are all clear, Imagine taking some of the world’s most nutrient dense foods and extracting the juice so that this coats your damaged linings beginning to heal them. Just about 100% of the nutrition is easily absorbed though a clean gi lining.
Finally, since you are all clear the juice remains inside healing and creating a new healthy environment. You feel amazing, energized and clear headed.
Here is what is now sitting in my gi tract instead of intestinal plaque, candida yeast and harmful bacteria that all help to drive Crohns:
Super food Reset Juice/Smoothie
Greens: Cilantro, Parsley, Dino Kale
Water Base/Sweet: Green Bell Pepper, 2 Apples, 1/4 Pineapple, 1 Whole Lemon
Super Foods: Ginger, Turmeric Root, Blended 1/2 Avocado
Probiotic: 20 billion with multiple strains
I know we are all different and nothing is a cure all for everyone. I just know that if I only take my prescription medication without adding natural remedies, I might let the Crohns get the best of my system some day. Fight the good Fight!
It was a very pleasant surprise to see an all organicClean Juice bar right here in Charlotte NC. Clean Juice has just opened recently and is located in the Stonecrest shopping center right off of Rea Rd. Why should I take the time and money to add organic juices daily to treat Crohns?
If you are like many victims with Crohn’s Disease, you have been told not to consume too much fiber from raw fruits and vegetables. The lining of you gi tract is inflamed and cannot deal with breaking down the insoluble fiber. As a result, most will avoid fruits and vegetables completely. The goodness in these foods may very well heal you if you could eat it. This is where juicing for Crohn’s comes in to save you. The juicer will remove 90+% of the fiber that you cannot break down and use. This now leaves you with vitamins, minerals, digestive enzymes and nutrients that kill bacteria, strengthen, heal and nourish the inflamed areas of the gi tract. Your body is essentially a juicer anyway and the juicer on your counter does the work for you.
It costs about $25-30 per week for the ingredients I need to make these juices. Hospital and doctor visits cost much more and you are practicing preventative medicine at the same time for possible future problems.
It takes me a total of 15 minutes to prep, juice, drink and clean/rinse the juicer each day. I make it part of my routine at the same time each day. It is just what I do after work and it has become very easy.

What else should I be doing to help my medicine to it’s job?
There are a couple of extra things that I do in addition to taking my medicine, juicing and eating foods that digest well.
I take organic potent Turmeric capsules 2x per day. This is my natural anti-inflammatory booster to go with the juice and my medication.
I eat a lot of garlic! Garlic is highly medicinal and will kill harmful bacteria that could be causing the Crohn’s in the first place. (Just don’t juice it) Just don’t!! haha
I also take vitamin D and B to help with a deficiency in it. These 2 vitamins are lacking in those with Crohn’s.

1 inch Turmeric Root – Anti-inflammatory and everything under the sun!!!
The color and taste of this recipe is just like sunshine in a glass. It will give you a nice burst of energy as it absorbs directly into your trillions of cells. I remember trying to use cranberries earlier when I first started juicing and I only did that once – haha. Cranberries can be pretty bitter, but now with this recipe you cannot detect it through the smooth sweet flavors.
I hope you enjoy this recipe and you are continuing to juice daily. I am approaching my 1 year anniversary for daily juicing, which is January 11th. I remember last year that the juice challenge ended on my birthday, the 31st. My wish was to be free from medication by my birthday. It is a great feeling to know that these methods continue to work well for not only myself, but for many others around the world. Keep it up because I am still going strong!
Our doctors are currently giving patients immune system suppressants as a means to treat Crohn’s Disease. This is usually a last resort for many and they are just plain sick of not feeling relief. This practice is just so dangerous! It increases your chances for so many other sicknesses, bacteria and viruses that you would normally have fought off. It is kind of like they are giving you AIDS to treat your Crohn’s Disease. The worst part is that they are simply trying to treat you and never really trying to cure you. They say that there is no cure for it because they are not trying and do not want to cure it. That is a strong statement, but I think we all know that this is true.
I don’t know if you have ever researched information on your “second brain”. Your second brain is your gastrointestinal tract. This second brain is controlled by the trillions of bacteria within your gut. This bacteria is in full control of your immune system! These bacteria control your cravings for foods that become food for this harmful bacteria. One of these is Candida yeast and this eats sugar. When you eat a ton of carbs and sugary treats, you feed this yeast and it can grow out of control.
I have said this many times before that food is the true root cause. I also think genetics plays a factor, but only to make you more sensitive than others to an overturned flora.
Sequence of Crohn’s in 5 Steps (My personal Theory)
Bacterial overgrowth (for those who are sensitive)
Immune system responds and attacks everything
Inflammation, poor absorption, malnutrition
Crohn’s and severe damage as the cycle repeats
When you stop step number 1 and really work on the health of your second brain, you can overturn the imbalance going on. Your immune system returns to normal levels and the inflammation stops. You then are able to absorb more of your food, vitamins and nutrients. This heals your damaged intestinal system and the Crohn’s cycle begins to stop.
Focus on feeding your body healing foods and liquids. There are many foods that are causing damage and that is why I do not eat wheat or dairy. These two throw my good bacteria off track and I just don’t want to go back there again. It takes a great diet, daily specific juicing and supplements like oregano and garlic to reverse the imbalance.
I don’t know, but this makes a lot of sense to me:) I hope there are others who are thinking this way:)
