**My Last Post**

I have not given up on myself or given up hope for natural intervention.  I think I have exhausted my knowledge and what to share on this medium.

I lay here in the hospital once again with a partial bowel obstruction after doing all that I know is right.  Yes I do feel quite defeated, but I don’t feel that all that I have written and shared is all for nothing.  I know that juicing can greatly help you and I know food choices are so important both for healing and for keeping healthy.  You can’t blame someone for being hopeful and getting excited when they start to see major progress through natural intervention:)

I know that I will now take my medication as prescribed in addition to a smart digestible diet for as long as I am told to. I will be juicing just as I have done before because it is just so good for those who cannot eat everything that they choose.

I wish you all the best of luck and I hope that something on here has improved your life.

Take care ~ Nick:)

  2. Don’t give up on this blog! I think it’s a wonderful avenue for others to learn more about juicing and how to implement it in their lives… Especially if dealing with medically fragile issues. I don’t have Crohn’s but I enjoy your blog and it encourages me and my children to drink some yummy concoctions … I am so sorry your path is not an easily traveled one but I do trust that you will find a way to make things work for you and your body…

    • That is great James!! My grandmother had psoriasis and I wonder if she knew about juicing and diet that she might have benefited. I am going to keep on trucking with the juice and be more careful than I already am with diet. Thank you for your post!

  6. I was ecstatic after the Election Results being a conservative with a small “c”, but saw your email and realised and that brought me straight down to Earth realising what really is important in life, I was nearly reduced to tears!……You have motivated so many many Crohns suffers including myself! I am Juicing and have been for the last 3 – 4 weeks, my symptoms have all but gone away after a year of agony, sleepless nights…etc etc! Be strong! So many people are thinking of you and praying for you. I doubt that you are wrong, perhaps you need to modify your diet a mix of med’s and juicing???? Who knows? We are all different, and we are all so desperate for a cure or at least relief from this terrible illness; but you have inspired hundreds if not thousands to question their diets, their life styles, even my GI has asked me if I think my approach to juicing is working. There has to be something in the science behind it, its just not the whole answer! Be proud of what you have achieved, that is all I want to stay: Stay strong and hope that your Crohns goes in to a quick remission. Good Luck. Mark

Feeling good today and my nurse staff just told me that I had the best Hemoglobin levels they have every seen in my blood. Must be the juice. Thank you for your response and stay tuned:)

  7. Nick! I’m so sorry to hear you’re dealing with this after such diligence and care to your diet. You don’t know me but through your blog/emails I feel I know you. I will very much miss your emails, and I credit you with my daily juicing. I still deal with sporadic severe crohns arthritis as my primary symptom, but knock on wood it stays this manageable. I also credit my nutrition including a fiber supplement I’ve found to really help me rather than hurt. I’d be happy to share some information and my experience with you if you’re open to it. As we know, everyone is different. Anyway, my thoughts are with you for a very speedy recovery! Best, Samantha Lincoln

  8. Hi Nick, you started me on the right path, I am 100% Crohns free for more than 5 months now… it was a combo of juicing and supplementing and homeopathy – I have a GREAT homeopath who I need to give credit to…

    Have you considered homeopathy?

    • I have not been able to find anyone in the Charlotte area in the area of homeopathy. If you have any contacts, I would love to look down that road soon. I am super happy for you that you are crohn’s free and juicing has helped you heal up:):) That is awesome to hear!!

  10. You’ve inspired me to try juicing for my health (something I never would have considered) after being diagnosed at 48 yrs. old with Crohn’s just last Fall. I’ve had a recent setback – not on any Rx – and hospitalized last week. Ups and downs aside, I hope you will keep inspiring me and all your readers. Who knows, reading about one of your “up” days may be just what God uses to motivate one of us to shake off the discouragement of one of our “down” days. Praying for your recovery and wise choices!

  11. Hi Nicholas,

So sorry to hear you are back in hospital. Sending you positive thoughts and wishing you well. I started juicing after seeing Fat Sick and nearly dead and also reading about Jason Vale. I was then delighted to come across your blog, which I have looked forward to reading weekly. I’ve had Crohns since I was 5, now 32 so it’s been a while. I’ve now been juicing for 9 months and I love it. I love your recipes and even more your positivity, enthusiasm and drive to fight and be the healthiest you can be regardless of your difficulties. I have told so many people about your blog as it’s truly inspiring. I’m sure the children you work with think the same of you and what an amazing role model you are! Sending you well wishes from Scotland.

  13. I just saw this post and was sad that you were not gonna post anymore. But relieved when I saw your newest post- new approach. There are many factors for crohns/ colitis outside of diet that can override what we do. Stress being a major factor; at least for me. My skin breaks out like crazy when I am stressed as a manifestation of crohns because I have a lot of outside bowel issues. It also depends on the severity of the disease process when u start a natural approach – how much reversal of the disease can happen. My holistic doctor even told me sometimes it can’t work do to the severity of the disease if that makes sense.
On another note, she told me 90 % of serotonin in your gut- so it’s not a suprise when we flare we get depressed. Happens to me all the time and still trying to repair the gut to feel better mentally. I often think my gut heals quicker than I can restore the serotonin made there.
Anyways- my other concern for you is that you were on a raw diet- and if you introduced fiber to quickly. And the type of fiber you ate- soluable vs insoluble and the frequency and amount you ate. May it be possible that fiber caused a flare?
Stay strong! We live and learn and fight on! My holistic dr and I now joke about I foolishly ate raw sushi and caused myself horrific pain! Lesson learned!
Stay strong and thanks for sticking with the blog and continuing to educate and support others! 🙂

    • Great possibility on the raw foods – It is time to stick to the meds and to foods that will easily break down in the body as to not get blocked up – balanced diet. No nuts or seeds or hard stuff. Jcrohnie715 is quite wise – you all should follow her work:)
