Backing up Juicing Claims


I have gotten a few challenge responses here or there that really try to shoot down the benefits of juicing and what the goal of this blog site really is.  (These individuals are usually ones who have never tried or have tried and given up on juicing quickly.)  The goal of this site is to share information and to help others with outside the box thinking.  The goal is not to make money from advertising and WordPress does not allow that anyway.  Plus, after writing over 200+ posts and answering every single inquiry within 1 day, my goal is clearly to help others who need new ideas.

After talking with a parent the other day about the benefits of juicing, I came up with an interesting way of thinking about why it truly works if you give it a good try. Think about how drinking soda causes weight gain, spikes sugar levels and many other health ailments or how drinking alcohol dries you out and causes fatigue.  If what you drink in these cases causes so many documented health problems, then it is highly probable that drinking the juices from fruits, veggies and herbs can cause the complete opposite.  If you would like to seek out and watch Superjuice Me or Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, you will see what I mean about progress.  

Why do I feel energized from wake to sleep? Why do I feel mentally clear and quicker? Why is my immunity through the roof when others catch every cold that comes by? Why have my allergies disappeared? The only thing that I do differently that others do not is drink juices once daily 7 days a week.  I feel the benefits and I can see the healing that takes place, but you have to commit to it for at least 1-3+ months to really see the positive changes.  Many do it for a few weeks, stop and then say it does not work.

Thus ends my rant on the benefits of juicing.  I will continue to do this for myself and as I keep encountering others who state that its is just a fad, good luck to you.  I will keep at it for myself:)

  1. Thank you for taking the trouble to share your thoughts and juicing recipes they really help. I have Crohn’s and find absorbing nutrition a problem. After juicing for 2 weeks I feel a great improvement in stamina and wellbeing. My bowl seems to have calmed down though it is early days.

  2. I feel great when i am juicing. i am away this week and don\t have my juicer – i won’t make that mistake again. it truly gives me a ton of energy and i look so much younger ; ) my crohn’s is better when i juice too

  3. Hi Nicholas! I’ve just found your website. And what a find! Hubby and I are embarking on a juice adventure after watching Joe Cross. My husband has had very bad crohn’s for years and it really seems to make a lot of sense to me that this would help him. He’s not on meds now. He just won’t do it. Having been on them so much In the past and having had averse effects (and no improvement in his condition) he’s just shut that down and said “no” for about 5 years now. (Not that I recommend this action for anyone out there!). We actually thought he was probably in remission and just dealing with all the damage from multiple surgeries and “short bowel syndrome” but a recent colonoscopy has shown its still very active. Anyway, we’ll see how he goes introducing juice. Can I ask – do you get much pain? And do you use anything to manage it?

    • Thank you for the compliment:) I never got much pain in the very beginning, but lately I get a cramping that goes from the under front left rib to the back under the shoulder blade and it goes away after using the bathroom and being regular. I use miralax to keep things from backing up a bit that seem to create this ache. This all stems from the flare up I had this year after my dog passed. I tend to bottle in stress and it greatly effects me without even knowing it.

      It is great that you guys are going for the juicing!! I am also looking into getting more raw foods in now so I can get the raw enzymes and good stuff all day long if I can.
